Sort

Separate reusable gaylords from damaged boxes and loose corrugated.

Keep them dry

Store under cover and off the ground. Wet board loses most of its value.

Knock down and band

Flatten boxes and band them on pallets by size.

Count and photograph

Note sizes, wall count, approximate condition and how many you have or produce each month.

What lowers the value

  • Moisture, mould, oil or food residue.
  • Hazmat or regulated-material markings.
  • Crushed corners, holes and missing flaps.
  • Mixed sizes and grades in one stack.

Boxes with no reuse value can often still be recycled.
