Pallets to go under your boxes

The pallet sets the box footprint. Most bulk boxes in North America are 48 × 40 because that is the common grocery (GMA) pallet size. Pallets can be requested with your boxes or on their own.

48 × 40 stringer (GMA)
The most common North American pallet. Two-way or partial four-way entry.
Block pallets
True four-way entry and usually a stiffer deck.
Plastic pallets
Clean, consistent and outside the wood-packaging rules for export.
Export (ISPM 15)
Wood pallets for export must be treated and stamped under ISPM 15, for example heat treated to 56 °C at the core for 30 minutes. Check current rules for the destination.

A deck with gaps lets a heavy bulk box sag into the openings, which concentrates the load. A pad or tier sheet between box and pallet helps. See pallet and truck fit.
